9th-Oct-2009 08:07 pm - Cool!
Little, Biker
I just saw one of these ads on TV tonight. I remember using similar analogies in high school. It makes me really happy that they consider this an important enough problem to air these commercials.
(Not that I particularly enjoy Hilary Duff or Wanda Sykes, but that's not the point anyway.)

7th-Oct-2009 07:57 pm - Four Years!
Little, Biker
Today makes four years that Brittney and I have been together! In fact, I think it was some time around this time of night that I asked her out to begin with.

It has been so awesome getting to know her and becoming close with her. But I really think four years is enough... ;-) KIDDING, of course! I hope to spend many many more years with this beautiful, amazing girl. I Love her very much.

10th-Sep-2009 10:30 pm - What a deal!
Little, Biker
One of my textbook purchases from Amazon.com earned me $5 worth of MP3 downloads from their digital downloads section. Cool! So I did some browsing and found an album for $9.45 with a couple of songs that I had heard on Pandora and enjoyed. That was a better deal than downloading each of the 12 songs on the album for $.99 a piece. But then I saw that there were two other albums for the same $9.45 price- another from the same artist, and a third that was labeled with BOTH of the first two album names... I clicked it to check it out and noticed it had 23 songs: the sum of the number of songs from the first two albums. I brought up all three song listings, and sure enough, the third album really was a two-fer. It had all of the songs from the first two albums, and was the same price!
In summary: 2 digital MP3 albums for the low price of 1. And even better, my $5 promotional thingy was deducted. That is $4.45 for two albums, and I can (and plan on) burn them straight to discs!

In Other News-

This 4-day week feels like a 6-day week! How can it be moving so slowly! I have a feeling it has something to do with being 9-5 this week as opposed to 8-4. Next week should go by more quickly.

9th-Sep-2009 09:56 pm - Practice Assignment
Little, Biker
My two online classes for the semester started last night. I am taking Entrepreneur: Venturing, and Visual Basic Programming.

My first assignment for E:V is a practice assignment to make sure everyone knows how to submit documents. I was given I think seven questions from which to choose one to answer. I chose "why did the chicken cross the road?" None of them really had anything to do at all with the subject of the class, but they were fun. Here is my answer:

Why did the chicken cross the road?
An answer in haiku, by Spenser Peterson

Bold chicken's walking
Adventure is what he seeks
Mid-road he finds it

I submitted it with the last line reading "Mid-road, it is found," but decided that was too passive. :-)

I took the kayak out on the retreat after work today. It was such a nice day to be outside. Let's hope the week keeps this up!

This is my GPS track. I started on the right side (at Route 30) and went counter-clockwise, and decided toward the end that I would draw Brittney a picture in the water...

No, not very creative, but I figured Brittney would appreciate it (I was right)*, and I had already paddled 1.4 miles and I was about ready to go home and eat something. The heart itself is a bit more than a quarter-mile loop.
I think I might have to try a few more of these GPS drawing things!

*How's that for cute, Alex and Deb! ;-)

Wow... I just came across this wealth of information about Brattleboro.  A lot of it is a few years old now, but still interesting stuff.  If you like pie charts, click the link!

Little, Biker
What the hell was it? "Ping, poke, Quechee?" I think we had some additional, optional ones as well...
Anyway, I felt I had to make this part of my route this weekend: )

My weekend was great! I hope you all had great weekends too!
